When you renew your WP membership this year, remember to order your copy of the handy 2011/2012 Dressage Omnibus. At only R75 it is a very useful little booklet containing details and schedules of shows as well as all sorts of useful information. So as well as getting such good value for yourself, you’ll be doing your bit to support WP Dressage as well!

Niall Quirk September Clinic

Niall Quirk, who gave very successful clinics in May and July is coming back to South Africa to do clinics in Cape Town and Natal.  

Most of the places have been taken up by riders who have already worked with Niall but we do have a few open slots at The Santuary in Banghoek, Stellenbosch on 2nd and 9th September.  Niall's success in South Africa comes from his profound knowledge of horses and dressage.  He has trained and worked for 15 years with Conrad Schumacher, one of the world's top dressage trainers.  What makes him so good?  Niall has exceptional comunication and teaching skills, he is remarkably encouraging and positive and gives 100% of himself to each rider.

Niall enjoys working with riders at all levels and in all disciplines.  Wonderful as it is to see him work with a top class dressage horse, it is also amazing to watch him help a stiff showjumper get on the bit and work through for the first time.  Watching Niall teach is a terrific learning experience in itself and his clinic days are Tuesday 31st (starting at 1200) August and Wednesday 1st September at Shora and Thursday 2nd, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th September (finishing at 1230 on 10th) at The Sanctuary.  Spectators are welcome at no charge, please contact Sarah Arnot (email above) for directions.

Niall trains up to Grand Prix dressage level and is himself an Irish Grand Prix champion.   He teaches in Ireland, the UK and the USA.  He is an FEI Train the Trainer coach up to Level III.  He teaches many Irish Olympic, European and WEG team members in Showjumping and Eventing.  Niall loves teaching flatwork to eventing and showjumping riders as well as technical dressage to dressage riders.  He enjoys his visits to South Africa and is looking forward to regular clinics in the future.

Download the Updated Standard WPHS Entry Form

The updated Standard Entry Form asking for the passport number, both your AHS dates and batch numbers as well as the last two Flu Vaccination dates and batch numbers is available for download.

DO NOT TRAVEL WITHOUT YOUR PASSPORT.  Roadblocks will be in place from 1st January 2009 and should you not have a passport with you, action will be taken.  The State Veterinary Department, SANEF, WPHS, AHS Trust and Racing SA are working together to ensure our equine friends are covered and entering venues / the Western Cape with the necessary “paperwork” available for inspection.
